Mr. Miller's Classroom

Going Global

Blogging is changing the way students are learning. The Super Scoopers at St. Clair in NZ performed their dance before a live audience this week and incorporated our video into their production. Several other schools as far away as the Shetland Islands also sent in video clips. After a lot of hard work writing singing, and dancing, the Scoopers and Ms. Bee pulled of one amazing collaborative dance that we were proud to be a part of. Congratulations to all the Scoopers –   have a great summer break!

  1. This is fabulous and what a wonderful use of technology! It must have been highly motivating and engaging to be able to perform online and get clips from as far away as the Shetland Islands. Dont you just love technology and its power to enable collaboration and creation across the globe.

Thanks Anne! I’m a big fan of your work with global projects. It truly is a small planet and it gets smaller every day. :-)

Room 162, we can’t thank you enough for your help with our end of year dance! We had so much fun with this whole project, learnt a whole lot about collaborating and skyping and actually enjoyed performing the dance. Many of us (boys especially) didn’t like the idea of dancing to begin with but this project inspired us to give it a go. We actually probably couldn’t have done this without your help so many, many thanks! Watch out for the final cut…. your class along with other participants feature a lot more than the stage show. (There were some tense moments… I tend to be an ideas person and sometimes, I bite off a little more than I can chew…)

Looking forward to working with you guys again sooner rather than later… we are back into our new school year on the 1st of February, 2011!
