My Dog, Peanut!!!! His Life Story!!!

I have a dog named Peanut. He’s a Chihuahua, he’s about a foot tall, and is about to turn six years old. It hurts me to think about what might have happened or where he would have ended up if my older sister, my mom, and I had never found the day that we did. But then again, it was destiny that we found him and were able to care and nurse him back to health. But I still remember the day as if it were just yesterday.Picture 24

I remember being about five or six years old. I was in the car with my mom and my sister, we had just left my grandparents house when out of no where my seventeen year old sister saw something from the corner of her eye scurry under the car. Out of no where I heard, “Mom Stop the Car!!!!!!” It was my sister. I think she had an adrenalin rush because at the speed of light she had jumped out of the car. I didn’t no exactly what was going on but when I looked outside all was my sister on the ground, lying on her knees telling my mom to drive a little bit further.

Later all I heard was, “GOT HIM!!!!” Then she came back into the car, but not by herself. When I turned to look at what she was holding… well what I saw was not what I had expected. It was a small, light brown, Chihuahua puppy. He was so cute, but I could easily tell that he wasn’t very healthy. He was covered in dirt, had little bugs in his eyes, and had ticks all over his hair. Obviously it wasn’t the best condition for a stray pup. So we decided to take him to the Veterinarian Office.

When the Vet was finally done examining the stray he told us that all he needed was to take some daily antibiotics and get cleaned up. We did what the Vet said, and before we knew it, the stray dog was healthy again. Once he was healthy again we signed the adoption papers and finally, after a long period of waiting, he was finally well enough to take home.

After a couple weeks of having a newborn pup living with us we decided that it was finally time to name the once before stray. We couldn’t figure out what to name him, but then my sister remembered that those couple weeks we had him I kept saying that he looked like a peanut. And remember guys, I was only about five or six, so the fact that he was small and light brown made me think he looked like a peanut.  Well anyway when my sister told my parents, they thought it was so cute that they said, “Okay, okay, then his name will be Peanut!!!” Once we figured out what to call him, he officially became apart of our family.
