As the second quarter comes to a close I’d like to shine the spotlight on several outstanding examples of student work. Google employees get what is called a 20% day. They are to spend 20% of their time on personal projects of interest. Several of Google’s best applications have emerged from this model so I thought that I could employ it with my students. Most Fridays, my kids get to work on a project of their choice using a technology of their choice. The only stipulation is that the project must tell a story and they cannot use the same technology twice.
This quarter, blogs and Animoto videos were the most popular. I’d like to highlight a few below, but you can find many more within the Student Blogs in the left sidebar.
